Translational Medicine at Hospital de Niños Dr Ricardo Gutiérrez

Translational Research

**

CEDIE is a research center that has been dedicated to pediatric translational medicine, specifically to the detection and treatment of hormonal problems in children, for almost five decades.

In 2016, the Ricardo Gutiérrez Children's Hospital inaugurated its Translational Research Unit with the aim of “articulating high-level scientific biomedical research with hospital care, so that patients can more easily access the advances of the biomedical development”.

The Translational Research Unit has a Genomics area, with Next Generation Sequencing equipment, and a Mass Spectrometry area for research in proteomics and metabolomics.

Currently, researchers, technicians, and research fellows of the Research Council of the City of Buenos Aires or CONICET are part of the Translational Research Unit of our Hospital, whose main objectives are:

🔹 To offer the most modern diagnostic methodology aiming at precision medicine and personalized treatments for the pediatric population attending our Hospital.

🔹 To carry out multidisciplinary research on pediatric pathologies, using the high technological standards in order to improve the quality of care for children and adolescents.

🔹 To incorporate a criterion of equity in the care of pediatric and adolescent patients, giving access to highly complex research and diagnostic methodologies to all sectors of the population.
